Message Center - Personal
Access this page using Personal>Message Center. |
Note: The personal Message Center page displays by default when you login to the system.
Use this page to view your personal messages. For example, you can view messages you have received from your manager about your work, or from Human Resources staff about approved or declined benefit elections, company holidays, or timesheet submittal.
You can filter the messages displayed in your personal Message Center by type, date, sender, and message. To filter messages, click on the filter icon displayed in a column heading and then click on the filter you want to use. When you click on a filter, the filter criteria associated with the filter displays the data that meets the filter you selected and hides data that does not meet the filter criteria.
For example, you can filter by message type to see only messages with the Request message type. You can also filter to view only messages sent on a specific date, or to view only messages sent by a specific person
HR Staff Users: The Emp ID, Name, Request Date, Request Type, Change, Reject, Approve, and Reason fields are only available if your employee ID has HR Staff timesheet permissions in the HR Management module. Fields
Read: Select this check box to mark all of your messages as having been read. Or check the box in the column for each message after you have read it . Once selected, the message row displays green, and the message will not display in your personal Message Center the next time you open the page. The default message types are General Info, Reminders, or Request. When you select the check box in the Read column for a Request or Reminder message type, the system records date and time information about when you read the message in a log.
Type: The system displays the type of message. You can filter on this field. The types of messages are General Info, Reminder, and Request. When you select the Read check box for a General Info message type, the message is deleted from the system. However when you select the check box a Request or Reminder message type, the system records date and time information about when you read the message in a log. The system does not record the date and time when you select the Read check box for a General Info message.
Date Sent: The system displays the date of the message. You can filter on this field.
Sent By: The system displays the name of the user sending the message. You can filter on this field.
Message: The system displays the text of the message.

- To view a report that contains your message history, use My Messages.
- If a Manager changes the main record (cost center, earning code) but not the time punch for a submitted timesheet, the employee will get a message letting them know that it has changed and needs to be re-submitted. At this time, if the Manager changes the time punch, the employee will still need to re-submit their timesheet, but they will not receive a message.
