Approve Leave Request - Manager

Access this page using Manager>Approve Leave Request.

Use this page to approve or reject employee submitted leave requests, if you are a manager and have Manager timesheet permissions in the HR Management module.

Notes:

This page displays a selected employee and allows managers to quickly see requested and approved leave requests by employee for the current and future pay periods. Managers see only the submitted leave requests for the employees they manage on this list. Employee/manager relationships are specified in the HR Management module. For more information about specifying managers for employee IDs, see the HR Management module online help.

You can do the following on this page:

If the EWS system configuration specifies Approver Edit permissions for managers, managers can change employee leave requests before approving an employee leave request. For example, managers with Approver Edit timesheet permissions can change the start or end date, hours requested, and request type for employee leave requests before approving them.

If the EWS system configuration does not specify Approve Edit permissions for managers, managers can only approve the employee’s leave request. They cannot edit employee leave request information. If a manager wants to change any employee leave request information before approving the entry, the manager must send a message to the employee requesting that the employee make the required changes to the leave request before the manager approves it.

Note: This is for scheduling purposes only. Leave requests will not be reflected on timesheets. Once approved, employees must enter their leave entry using Action>Leave Entry.

Fields 

Employee Name: Click the drop-down list to select an Employee. The system displays the Employee ID, Name, and Number of Active Leave Requests.

Include Past Requests: Select this check box to display past leave requests in the Leave Request Table.

Requested: The system displays the number of hours that have been requested with the status of Request.

Approved: The system displays the number of hours that have been approved by the Manager.

Total Hours: The system displays the total hours of leave that have been requested.

Leave Calculation Table: The system displays the following information.

Buttons 

Add: Click this button to open the Add/Edit Leave Request page.

Edit: Select an existing leave request and click this button to open the Add/Edit Leave Request page and make changes to the leave request.

Delete: Select an existing leave request and click this button to delete the selected leave request. You will be asked to confirm the delete.

Calculate: Click this button to display the Leave Balance Calculator page and to calculate your leave balance. This tool lets you estimate your leave balance for a future date, so you can estimate how much time you can take off.
